One of BrizBrain & Spine's patients. Garry Lawton is embarking on a fundraising run from ROckhampton to Brisbane to raise money for the BrizBrain & Spine Reserch Foundation.

Caring with Colour - Orange Thumbs Event

The Guardian Newspaper captured one of our most recent fundraisers; the Orange Thumbs Event held in Bundaberg. The event raised a total of $3,634, which will go towards further research and development for the BrizBrain & Spine Research Foundation.

The quest to find a cure for brain cancer was given a further boost today when      the Queensland Minister for Health, the Hon Stephen Robertson launched the       not-for-profit BrizBrain & Spine Research Foundation in BrizBrain & Spine's new medical suites at the Wesley Hospital

BrizBrain & Spine Research Foundation set to benefit from neurosurgery trainee programDr Jason Papacostas

BrizBrain & Spine is set to become the first private health sector participant in a neurosurgery training program for medical graduates. The research year, a compulsory part of achieving formal qualification as a neurosurgeon, is normally undertaken in the public system.

Instead, Dr Jason Papacostas will be Australia’s first neurosurgery trainee to complete his research year working with two of the country’s premier neuro-clinicians, Dr Terry Coyne and       Dr Peter Silburn. His research will focus on Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS)
