Our Mission

The BrizBrain & Spine Research Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation that is committed to developing innovative treatments of Brain and Spinal conditions with an emphasis on Surgical Conditions and Surgical Treatment.

Modern Surgical techniques of the brain and spine are very sophisticated. This only came after years of dedicated research into brain and spinal conditions, and research into the treatment of these conditions with and without surgery. There are always new procedures to research, new conditions to treat and new treatments of known conditions so that we can achieve better outcomes for patients.

To do this we need to evaluate our current treatment methods scientifically and methodically. This often raises new questions about what we can do better, and these new methods must be trialled in a precise and scientific manner. We need to discover and initiate new ideas, techniques and approaches, which requires research and development in our specialty area. The goal of the research division is to improve the care and treatment of patients with neurosurgical brain and spinal conditions.

Our mission is to:

• Monitor effectiveness of current neurosurgical treatment
• Develop and assess new treatments for brain and spinal conditions
• Provide advanced training in neurosurgical research and surgery
• Provide a private source of funding for research and training in neurosurgery
