Restoring order and giving hope to brain tumour patients
There is an adage that without your health, you have nothing. It is a saying that resonates so strongly for the hundreds of people diagnosed with a terminal illness every year. The shock, the grief, the trauma of discovering there is limited time left to live has a profound impact on patients, their families and friends.
Last Christmas, a beautiful and intelligent 27-year old Rockhampton woman was forced to confront her own mortality when she was diagnosed with an oligodendroglioma; a malignant brain tumour. At that dreadful point, her life was turned on its head – literally.
